August 11, 2023

Will you help me realize my photobook 'Drakeblood'?

Since 2018, I have been busy photographing a village community captivated by a dragon. Did you know that we have a real dragon village in the Netherlands?

Beesel is indeed dragon territory, where for centuries the story of St. George and the Dragon has been passed down from generation to generation. With songs about poisonous dragons that can climb out of the Maas River. I want to share this unique story and village with people through a photobook.

I take the viewer into the almost elusive intertwining of different realities in Beesel. The village has great symbolic meaning for me, and in my photobook, I capture this village and its elusive myth.

Sybren Kuiper is responsible for the design, and Lecturis Publishing will publish it. Historian and journalist Jona Lendering has written an engaging essay specifically for this photobook.

Do you want to support me with the crowdfunding?

My adventure in Beesel is coming to an end. The Draaksteken will take place again in August 2023. It will happen again in 2030, and 7 years later, just as they have been doing for centuries in this special village. By buying a signed copy of my photo book or choosing one of the other rewards on the right side, you can help make the photo book 'Drakeblood' a reality! You'll support me tremendously by purchasing a photobook in advance.

As a thank you, you can now buy a copy with a 10% discount on Voordekunst.
But you can also make a donation from €10, and every little bit helps!🙏
Thank you very much in advance!
